About Us

Come in and learn about the lord and his love

The story of St Pauls Anglican Church(SPAC) is reminiscent of the American story. It all started in 2008 when a group of Christian men and women decided to form a fellowship where the worship of God shall be utmost. These group of dedicated brothers and sisters tasked themselves and rented the current place of worship. Rev. Dr. Humphrey Nsofor was the pioneer Vicar, ably assisted by Rev Canon Godwin Uvuka. Rev. Nsofor and Rev. Canon Godwin Uvuka did everything within their power to see that this church did not go into extinction. Their efforts resulted to what Paul said to us in his Epistle to the Corinthians, "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase." (1 Corinthians 3:6)
SPAC, has had some ups and downs that are synonymous with the Church. The most noticeable was the transfer of our pioneer Vicar and the subsequent relocation of some founding members of the church to Nigeria. But the word of God cannot be broken. For He said in the book of Mathew 16: 18, "...and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." SPAC has been sustained until now by the grace of God.
On the other hand, SPAC have been making inroads into the great commission, which is to "go and make disciples of all nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you,"
We are more focused on grassroots evangelism. If I use the correct word, we are focused on discipleship;( teaching and training people to be disciple makers).
I will also use this opportunity to state that SPAC is the first Church in Houston metropolis to produce an indigenous priest. Rev. Patrick Chinweuba is a member of SPAC. He was ordained a Catechist in 2010. In 2014, our lord Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Felix Orji ordained him a Deacon and in June 2015 he was priested. This is an outstanding achievement and a credit to SPAC. I will proudly say that we have a dynamic Church and wonderful Church members. The Church is growing in spiritual and numerical strength. Our children department is second to none. We thank our reverend's wife, Sis. Precious and her assistants for a job well-done.
To help us know God in Christ as the fulfillment of our deepest desire; and to provide guidance, inspiration and support in our journey with Christ so that we may incorporate our faith in all aspects of our daily life.

Guided by the above mission statement our liturgies, ministries and programs enable people to have authentic, personal, transforming experiences of the mystery of God. In this way, people will come to know God, not just know about God.
